was created to bring awareness of the damage we are doing to our precious planet. Not only are we doing damage but we are impacting the people most dear to us: our children. Their future is in our hands, affected by the actions and decisions we make on a daily basis.
The scientists have provided warnings over and over but it is apparent that (most) governments are not listening. The problem lies in the fact that our government leaders are backed by lots of money. It is not in their interest to stifle big business. So it is up to each and every individual. We can choose to leave a legacy of environmental ruin.
OR we can choose to sacrifice our time, energy and money to provide future generations with the same quality of life that we have come to expect. To successfully combat climate change, we MUST reduce our carbon footprint to a bare minimum.
We MUST exert pressure on our governments to restrict profit-motivated big businesses. There will always be reasons why we can't do this and we can't do that. But remember the old cliché: "Don't let the things you can't do stop you from the things you can."
We must start "going green" now and begin reducing our carbon footprint; we only have one chance to save our planet so just do it.
